Mont Blanc Challenge
Four intrepid explorers have decided to undertake a journey to Mont Blanc commencing on 13th June 2015 where we intend to reach its Summit which stands at 4,804m (15,411 ft). As you can imagine this is a huge challenge and one we are not taking lightly, the dangers are high, avalanches, altitude and extreme temperatures will still be apparent even in the summer months. Our Training has started in earnest and our plans are to leave for Mont Blanc on the 12th June returning on the 20th/21st of June 2015, we will be climbing for 8 days sleeping and eating on the mountain to a planned itinerary.
Our exploits are being undertaken as a fundraising trip for the Finlay Cooper Fund which was set up by Colin & Julie Cooper in memory of their son in 2006. The fund itself provides much needed assistance and support to families, individuals, schools and organisations raises money to support children’s causes of all types principally, but not limited to areas of the North East and Teesside, the Alps hold a very dear place in my heart and I hope you will support this venture is perfect!!
On behalf of the fund we are seeking to raise money for our trip and hope that you find this a worthy cause and one you are prepared to support. On behalf of Tony Dye, David Rowlands, John Hobson and Michael Armstrong we thank you in anticipation of your support and generosity for this well deserving cause.
